Install the Shift Extension

First, visit the Shift extension's page on the Adobe Exchange:

Then, click the blue "Free" button. Once you have acquired the extension, you can access it by clicking "View My Exchange."

Next, click "Install," followed by the "Sync" button. You will see a green "Sync request has been sent" notification along the bottom of the page. The Shift extension will now appear in your Adobe apps under Window > Extensions.

Activate the Shift Panel

Now that you have installed the Shift extension, go to your Adobe app, navigate to Window > Extensions, and select Shift. The screenshots below feature Premiere Pro, but you can follow the same steps with After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Once you select Shift from the Extensions menu, you are given an activation code. Enter this code by visiting in your web browser.

The Shift panel displays an alphanumeric code that you enter in your browser.

If you are already logged into Shift, the activation page appears in your web browser, where you can enter your code. If you are not logged into Shift, log in as you normally would, and then enter your code. Note that Shift supports a variety of different login methods, including social authentication and enterprise Single Sign-On.

Open the URL in your web browser, and enter your code.

A "Success!" message confirms you have activated the Shift extension.

After you enter your activation code, the Shift extension automatically refreshes and displays all your Shift projects and assets, so you can start browsing, importing, and exporting files.
